Elvont/back-formation

Néha beköszön Dalí is.

Sometimes Dalí comes in to say "hello"... This is from another sketchbook, it isn't bigger than 10×13cm-s. There's much space left in the book, we'll see, maybe I'll get some inspiration. I needed pencil, some mordant dye and a handful of imagination to do this...

Önarckép/Self portrait

Egész sok mindenre lehet jó a CD csomagokban található üres védőlemez...
Sajnos mindössze egyetlen nyomat készült belőle. Soha ne takaríts nitrohígítóval műanyaglemezt...

You can find empty discs in the big CD packages and they're very useful...
Unfortunately there's only one print remained from this. Never use nitro based diluent to clean plastic discs...

Táncos

Egy másik kollázs 2007-ből. A Newsweekben egész jó fotókat lehet találni...

Another collage from 2007. You can find some very good pictures in Newsweek...

Arcok és absztrakt/Faces and abstract

A festett részek akvarellel készültek.

This drawing is a part of my sketchbook what I began to fill in 2009. It isn't bigger than someone's hand. The painted parts made with aquarelle. It don't have title, as I wrote, this is the hardest part of the job... (I accept any ideas gladly.)

Apróságok/The little things

I have a habit since a few years. I used to draw in small sketchbooks. One reason of this habit is that anything I showed to my teachers in college, they said the good old formula: "that"s good for sketch". This made me really angry, especially because it isn't extraordinary in our small country (Hungary) that critics and artist accept a simple sheet of paper plied apart as a "work of art".
So I decided to draw in small size and the sketch is the art itself. These compositions aren't bigger than a hand of a small child. I was always interested in the abstract art. How to express spatial or emotional propotions or just draw for the beauty of the forms. One of the reasons of my interest maybe the titling, because the hardest part of the job is to give a title...

Diplomamunka/Graduation work

részlet/detail

1. fázis/Phase one

2. fázis/Phase two

3. fázis/Phase three

So, here are the phases and the finished work. The objective was to make a colored print and not just a simple reprint the colors one after another. That means, after an etching phase there was a printing phase too. It was really tiring to work like this, so there are only 6 copies + 1 test print. Of course there were difficulties, because you have to steep the paper before you print, and because of water, the solid measures were always changed, so you can't fix the printing plate.
The printing was in the well known CMYK order, but as you can see, the finish was rather exciting than representational. I could use a new plate for each color, but that would be terribly hard job.

Diplomamunka/Graduation work

The objective of my graduation work was to make and print an etching in an unusual way. The main difference was in the printing. I used the well known CMYK printing method, however, I was sure about, that I can't do a perfect printing with simple manual methods. So, I wished to do a color printing witch can show spatial differences. First of all, I made experiments with foils, because I was curious about the color mixture. On the lower picture, you can see a test line. I recommend to do this for every artist, who wish to make etching. We know, to make an etching, we sometimes need acid. This is an acid and tone test. The darker the tone, the longer have stayed in the acid and the lighter the tone, it has less ground coat. I used a toothbrush to make this raster. I'll show you the printing phases and the finished work in a later post.

Diplomamunka/Graduation work

A fenti vázlatok a Nyíregyházi Főiskolán készített diplomamunkám első rajzai. A legtöbben mihelyst kiválasztották a témát, igyekeztek minél több rajzos vázlatot csinálni hozzá. Én inkább néhány felvételt is csináltam a könnyebbség kedvéért.

These sketches were made for my graduation work in the College of Nyíregyháza. My subject was "Atelier". The technique was free, so this was my chance to make it in my favourite way. I'm sure about that a true studio, atelier is nothing but a store without the person or the sign of work. Well, I didn't want to draw a store, that's the reason of the figures on these sketches. Most of us drew tons of pictures for sketches, but I decided to make a few photos, because it's easy. I thougt they kick me for this, because I just printed the photos and painted them a bit, but suprisingly they not just accepted it, but they were happy to see them...
I'll show you the other drawings, the concept and finish in another post.

Ne nézzetek, csak most kezdtem!

For those, who see something has changed, they're right. After a few comments and critics I have decided to continue the site in two languages: Hungarian and English.
(Don't look at me, I'm just a beginner!)

This is one of my first pictures in 2007 with my camera obscura. I fell in love with this technique, because of it's simplicity and because you always can get some suprising result. I never try to count the perfect timing, I just guessimate. This picture was taken in the College of Nyíregyháza, under the "C" building. I used a simple paperbox and worse dark negative for the pinhole. The distance from the hole was 15cm and the paper was 2 ASA I think.

4 a sokból/4 of many

These 4 compositions for screenprints were made in 2008. They will be a part of a larger portfolio, with 10-20 prints in each file. I hope I'll have the chance to make it, but I haven't got my first portfolio with 8 black&white prints, so I don't expect mutch. I think I have to find another way...

2011. január 8., szombat

Egy a sokból/One of many

Később a terv négyzetes részét olajjal is megfestettem.
This is one of the very first compositions I made in 2006. The plans were made in Corel, after that I made screenprints, (40 sheets, in the good old way, no machines, no computer, just a lance, photo-emulsion, stainer and light) than I painted the middle part of the composition in oil. The painting was the first in this style in oil. I think Fajó János (hungarian painter, sculptor, art teacher) still has it in his possession. I always loved simple forms spiced with a bit of excitement. I looks simple, if you make it with computer, but belive me, it's like a prize-fight in the ring, when you do it by your own hands.

This is a detail from my drawing about my grandmother in 2007. A picture was made in 2008, by a black&white photo. Sadly she couldn't be my model, because she suddenly left us. The photo was one of the last among the other pictures in that roll about her. As far as I can tell you, this is the 2nd drawing about her and the only one by me. The original size is A/2. The drawing was a main point in my first exibition in 2009. It was in a small city Szerencs, in Hungary. The exibition's title was "25 years old", because both the city and I were 25. (Szerencs was a "town" and not a "city" 26 years ago. The "birthday" of the city is in the first quarter of the year, I think. By the way, mine is in 14th of February.)

A fenti talán jó lesz.
Számos célra felhasználható a belsőépítészeti terveken át a grafikai kiadványokon keresztül rajzórai feladatként is.
This was my first collage in 2007. I made a lot in that year, but I left this technique since then. I even forgot to give a title to this one. I think "Escape" would be good enough. The parts were cut out from noumerous Newsweek magazines, exept the running person, who was get from a local sport magazine. The size is A/4 I think.
The fun in this technique, that you don't have to be skillful, just a scissors and your imagination. You can use this way for nearly every visual tasks. (sketches, plans, interior decoration, etc.)
Moholy-Nagy László (hungarian photographer, painter, designer, Bauhaus master, experimental movie maker, etc.) and Kassák Lajos (hungarian poet, painter) were masters of the collage. They began this fun game and you can continue too.

Koponya/Skull

Ez a karc 2006-ból való. Röntgen képet használtam a tervhez, azért ilyen szokatlan a látvány.

(Remélem ott a dúc, ahol hagytam...)

This etching was made in 2006. I used a x-ray picture to finish this. I was in the College of Nyíregyháza and this was made for a setout.
I like the colour of this one, even it has a small mistake on the top.

(Hopefully I know where the plate is.)

Kerek forma/Roundy shape

A méret talán 11×11cm.

(A képeim többsége szekrény mélyén pihen, gondosan becsomagolva, így most csak tippelek. De hogy hol lehet a dúc...)

Another etching from those times, now it's a rounded shape. It's a bit tricky too, becouse you can't realize what you see first. I can tell you, this is not an abstract composition, it is on the border between figurative and nonfigurative. If you lay under your table as the cables hanging from the side, you can see somthing like this.
I think the size is 11×11cms.

(Most of these works are kept well in a wardrobe, wrapped in manilla paper, so I don't wish to unpack them. And don't ask where is the plate, because I don't have a single idea...unfortunately.)

Self portrait from 2007

This one is a little bit tricky. This isn't the print, it's a scan about the etched metal plate. I think I made prints from it, but I wasn't satisfied. The original size is 30×30cms.

I think this was my last etching. I didn't make anymore since then. Maybe I'm too lazy or because of dissatisfaction... even I don't know.

Karcok a 2000-es évekből/Etchings from the 2000's

One of my favourite prints from 2006... I made many different colour prints about this. The technique is etching the material is aluminium, the size is about 13×13 cms.

Begins

Well, this is my first entry from my first own blog. Most of the entrys will about graphics, paintings and other works. I've decided a long time ago to make this site, but hell knows why I was waiting until now. Anyways, better to begin.

Most of my works are handmade and abstract. Of Course there are other compositions, strange mixture of figurative and nonfigurative elements. Some years ago I began to learn about calligraphy and graphic design, so you can expext some of these works too. Photography is another love in my live, so there will be a few photos too. I have many plans on computer in konstructive style, but professional screenprint is another deal...

So, let's begin...
